JavaScript is required. This workspace runs locally in your browser and needs JavaScript to save and export entries.

Your entries remain in this browser

The workspace uses your browser’s local storage. It does not submit your entries to Home Claim Ledger. Anyone using this browser profile may be able to view them, so export a backup and clear the workspace before using a shared or public device.

Export, print, or restore your workspace

Browser storage can be cleared by device settings, privacy tools, or browser changes. Export a JSON backup if you want to restore the editable workspace later. CSV is useful for a spreadsheet; print creates a readable snapshot.

How to use this workspace responsibly

Preserve original evidence

Use the evidence reference field to point to photographs, receipts, estimates, or messages stored elsewhere. This workspace does not upload or store the files themselves.

Separate facts from estimates

Describe what you observed and label uncertain dates or amounts as estimates. Do not treat the recorded expense total as a coverage or settlement calculation.

Check policy-specific instructions

Your policy, insurer, type of loss, mortgage arrangements, and state requirements can change the process. Confirm important requirements with the appropriate source.

Why these records: NAIC consumer guidance recommends documenting losses, taking photographs or video, listing damaged property, preserving damaged items when possible, and retaining receipts. See the NAIC claims-process guidance and our source methodology.
